| 1) Free stall barns are designed to have the rear end of the cow out of the stall allowing the cows to drop their manure into the alleyway. While the stalls are empty, a valve is opened and the water is flushed down the alleyway. The manure is flushed out of the barn. |

| 2) The liquid and cow manure is sent to the solid liquid separator from the reception pit.

| 3) Solids and liquids are separated. Solids go to the TiPi. Liquids go to a liquid clarifier or methane gas digester. |
